about me

This section is less about me and more ABOUT YOU.  If you have reached this page, it’s because you have made the first step to achieving a positive birth experience for you and your baby, so congratulations!

Ultimately, this is YOUR birth; you and your birth partner will be the people in charge of every decision you make from this point forward and I am excited to have the opportunity to teach you the hypnobirthing skills and tools that will empower you to do so.

Allow me to share a little bit about myself to help you decide whether I am the hypnobirthing teacher for you.

About me.jpg

I am Katy.  Mum to Maggie, our spirited and sassy daughter born in June 2016 and Jasper, our firecracker son born just 18 months later on New Year’s Eve 2017.  We welcomed our third (and final!) baby, our beautiful daughter Delphi in September 2019 - our hands and hearts are certainly full! My husband Chris and our fur baby, Little Bear complete our family.  We live in Tunbridge Wells.

We were lucky enough to stumble across hypnobirthing in early pregnancy with Maggie.  Prior to that, I knew nothing about birth other than what I’d seen on TV!  Since then, I have lived and breathed hypnobirthing  and I am still applying the skills I learnt to this day as a Mother.   I can honestly say, hypnobirthing changed my life.  Every parent deserves to have a positive birth experience, which is why I decided to retrain as a hypnobirthing teacher after Maggie was born.

I am a certified KGHypnobirthing teacher, founder of The Birth Thing® and teach a thoroughly modern, comprehensive course that is suitable for all births. I feel strongly that we aren’t taught enough about birth and how our bodies work from a young age and I want to be a part of the movement to help change that.  Without the education that hypnobirthing gave me about my body and birth, I believe I would have a very different perspective.  You can read Maggie and Jasper’s birth stories alongside a collection of my client’s stories here.

I am passionate about educating and bringing expectant parents together at all stages of pregnancy, which is why I recently set up our Pregnancy Supper Clubs. They take place in local eateries and venues on a monthly basis and are a cheap and cheerful chance to connect with other mums to be whilst enjoying some yummy food. You can book here for the next one; tickets do sell out quickly!

As well as the Pregnancy Supper Clubs, I facilitate FREE antenatal gatherings that take place monthly. We welcome all pregnant people to come together to discuss all things birth - however and wherever you plan to birth your baby. There is absolutely no agenda and no one is going to sell you anything; it is simply a chance to connect, share stories and challenge the negativity and fear surrounding giving birth in today’s society. We’d love to welcome you along to the next one!

For those reading this who have already had your babies, either yesterday or decades ago, I am honoured to offer a unique Mother’s Massage called the Post Natal Recovery Massage. Inspired by Closing the Bones, a traditional Ecuadorian post partum healing ceremony, this incredible new massage technique has been designed by doula and healer Sophie Messager & renowned osteopath Teddy Brookes.

It's a magical mix of spirituality meets osteopathy and is the perfect ritual to honour and nurture the mother following the birth of her baby. It can be performed hours after giving birth, or years later; the main intention is to realign and restore balance physically, emotionally and energetically. If this is something that appeals to you, I’d be delighted to treat you.
